Habitat :A pasture forage plant. Introduced from Europe, it now thrives in most temperate and subtropicalregions of the world.

Description :A plant with leaves consisting of three leaflets whose red flowers are borne in dense headsannually and perennially. Most strains trail along at ground level, but some reach over thirty inches in height.Clover is thought to bring good luck, and its nectar is so deep in the flower that it is onlypollinated by bumblebees. Claims that red clover cures cancer and venereal disease are not true; delayingproper medical treatment of such serious illnesses could prove fatal.
Uses :Once widely sold as an alterative, or cure for venereal disease, it remained in the NationalFormulary as late as 1946, even though it was declared to have no known medicinal properties as early as1912.
