Theplant is a common twining creeper, native to most parts of India,and is found upto altitudes of 1000 m. The seeds are small, greyishbrown and flattened. A diuretic effect has been shown'. As a homeremedy, kultha has been used in dysuria, bleeding piles, vaginalbleeding, epistaxis and leucorrhoea. Its use in reducing obesityis also recognised. In dysuria it works due to its diuretic property.It is also used to reduce crystalluria.
