A toxin is defined as any compound that has a detrimental effect on cell function or structure. Some toxins cause minimal negative effects while others can be fatal. Toxins damage the body in an insidious and cumulative manner. The body naturally processes toxins through the liver, kidneys, and lower intestines (your detoxification system). These organs must function optimally for toxins to be adequately removed from the body before they damage tissues. If your detoxification system becomes overtaxed, toxic metabolites (by-products of metabolism) gradually accumulate and wreak havoc on normal body processes.

Since all of your organs and functions are intimately connected, the moment your basic body processes start to break down, your entire body deteriorates.

Here is a highly recommended 3-day detox program which incorporates diet, yoga, and exercise:

Day One Reduce Solid Food by 25% to 50 %
Day Two Fruit and Vegetable Juice Fasting
Day Three Back to Normal Diet

2. 120 ml of Breuss Vegetable Juice* or Organic Vegetable Juice Substitute
3. 3 gm of Spirulina
4. 120 cc of Digestive fruit juice after lunch
5. Use Breuss juice or organic Fruit Juice Substitute for tea break
6. Drink SOD tea throughout the day
7. Filtered or mineral water at least 2,500 cc
8. Asana (yoga posture or aerobic) - morning and evening to last for 15 to 20 minutes
9. Exercise - Deep breathing for about 5 to 10 minutes in the morning
10. Less meat
11. No oily fried food
12. More vegetable and fresh fruits
13. More water - 2,500 cc and more

Day Two: Fruit and Vegetable Juice Fasting

1. 500 ml of pure water to be drunk slowly in the morning
2. 150 cc of Breuss as meal substitute
3. 3 gm of Spirulina

4. 5-6 times of the above throughout the day (if hungry, more)
5. SOD tea throughout the day
6. Good water at least 2,500 cc
7. Dry brush your body (or using dry towel to rub) before bath/shower
8. Asana - morning and evening

Day Three: Back to normal diet (almost)

1. 500 ml of pure water to be drunk slowly in the morning
2. 120 cc of Breuss juice before breakfast, lunch and dinner
3. Go easy with the food as stomach's capacity has been reduced
4. Bowel movement should be 2~3 times, if constipate, supplement more dietary fibre
5. Good water at least 2,500 cc
6. Asana - morning and evening
7. Exercise - Deep Breathing

What to expect during the fast

1. Hungry
2. Dizzy / tremble (use Spirulina to regulate the blood sugar level)
3. Constipation (more fiber from fruits and vegetable, use flaxseed powder if necessary) or you might want to consider taking formulated dietary fiber drink.
4. Diarrhea
5. Fever
6. Joint pains (might be due to detoxification)
7. Moody
8. Healing crisis (for one day fasting, this should not happen)

Good signs

1. Feeling exhilarated
2. Lightness
3. Energetic
4. Serenity

For general fasting, one can substitute carrot juice, fruit juices (not too sweet) for Bruess juice. Lemon water throughout the fast will be very good for body and liver.

If you're happy with the program and want to extend the fast for another few days, just repeat the Day Two program for another few days, before going into the Day Three.
